Day 1

January 20, 2014 Day 1. FAIL

The proposition to start a healthier lifestyle came from my friend Stephen Humiwat. Mr. Hums as we call him is a nurse and a lecturer in one of the best nursing review centers here in the Philippines. Because of his knowledge in human health, he is the most health and figure conscious amongst us.

After a series of conversation, I decided to partner with him and join his fitness journey. So, I invited another friend, Bengs to accompany us in this journey LOL. Bengs is the most athletic in our group. She plays basketball and swims regularly. So, inorder to learn a few tricks and the do's and don'ts to slim down, I invited her and thankfully, she immediately accepted!

After our class in labor relations, we dismissed early so we hurriedly went to Mr. Hums' condo to change. We decided to run in Malacanang. When we got there, there are lots of police personnels and armed forces. We didn't know that there will be a procession later. So, inorder not to waste precious time, we started jogging even if some of the police men were looking at us with an annoyed expression on their face (hahaha)! However, when we were halfway on the first lap, one of the policemen stopped us told us to spare this day. At first, we seem reluctant to follow his request / order because we ratiocinated that it's a public place and we're just jogging, what harm can we do? But after deliberation, we decided to conceed to his request and leave for the following reasons:
1. fear of getting arrested LOL
2. our dean and schoolmates who will participate in the procession might catch us wandering in the area knowing that we are also required to join hence may face disciplinary sanction :P
To summarize, we are afraid of getting disciplined by our Dean.

So, there goes our first day, 20 minutes of running, only a teaspoon of sweat and less than 5 calories burned!

Lesson Learned: Don't be discouraged, you may not succeed today but you will always have tommorrow to redeem that awesome self!

The #pushlang experience

Hi! I am Jackie, a law student from San Sebastian College Recoletos. Law School is a very stressful place, you have to deal with everyday stress and pressure from your professors, classmates and reading requirements. Due to that, most of us spend our whole day in coffee shops, library, study tables etc. inorder to meet the daily demands of the course (which as y'all know is reading). However, because of this ambitious desire for knowledge, prestige and glory, we failed to take in consideration the effects of this unhealthy lifestyle. So, before it's too late, my buddies and I decided to take immediate action to flatten those bellies and be fit this 2014. Thus we started this #pushlang experience. This blog will account our day to day struggles inorder to be fit and healthy and to be one of the motivating factor to continue this journey to a healthy lifestyle. Likewise, to prove that we, law students are not just your ordinary nerds and geeks aspiring to be lawyers, we also desire to have a LIFE away from the academe. So, without much further ado, Let's get the #pushlang experience started!!!

Be warned: Some lawschool rants, stuffs, dramas and love life might also be posted! :)
