January 20, 2014 Day 1. FAIL
The proposition to start a healthier lifestyle came from my friend Stephen Humiwat. Mr. Hums as we call him is a nurse and a lecturer in one of the best nursing review centers here in the Philippines. Because of his knowledge in human health, he is the most health and figure conscious amongst us.
After a series of conversation, I decided to partner with him and join his fitness journey. So, I invited another friend, Bengs to accompany us in this journey LOL. Bengs is the most athletic in our group. She plays basketball and swims regularly. So, inorder to learn a few tricks and the do's and don'ts to slim down, I invited her and thankfully, she immediately accepted!
After our class in labor relations, we dismissed early so we hurriedly went to Mr. Hums' condo to change. We decided to run in Malacanang. When we got there, there are lots of police personnels and armed forces. We didn't know that there will be a procession later. So, inorder not to waste precious time, we started jogging even if some of the police men were looking at us with an annoyed expression on their face (hahaha)! However, when we were halfway on the first lap, one of the policemen stopped us told us to spare this day. At first, we seem reluctant to follow his request / order because we ratiocinated that it's a public place and we're just jogging, what harm can we do? But after deliberation, we decided to conceed to his request and leave for the following reasons:
1. fear of getting arrested LOL
2. our dean and schoolmates who will participate in the procession might catch us wandering in the area knowing that we are also required to join hence may face disciplinary sanction :P
To summarize, we are afraid of getting disciplined by our Dean.
So, there goes our first day, 20 minutes of running, only a teaspoon of sweat and less than 5 calories burned!
Lesson Learned: Don't be discouraged, you may not succeed today but you will always have tommorrow to redeem that awesome self!
